Long Sault Archery Club
The Long Sault Archery Club (LSAC), a sister club of the Massena Rod & Gun Club, was formed in the late 1970's for the archery enthusiasts in the area. It started shooting at the Twin Rivers Elementary School Gym for the Indoor League and evolved to the 28 outdoor target range on the club premises. In 1986, when the club's major addition was added, an indoor range was established in conjunction with the club's banquet room.
The LSAC maintains two 14 target outdoor ranges. One range has 2D paper animal targets and the other range has spot targets. Practice butts are available at the club for sighting in. The Indoor League shoots from January to March and consists of three nights (Wednesday- Adults, Thursday- Youth, Friday - Open Shooting).
Membership dues for the Long Sault Archery Club is additional to the dues for the Massena Rod & Gun Club. The annual dues (January 1st - December 31st) are as follows: Adult: $5, Spouse $3, Juniors (17 and under) $2. This membership gives all archery members access to equipment and LSAC facilities.
The LSAC holds 3D Archery Fun Shoots throughout the summer. The shoots consist of realistic 3D animals in actual hunting situations. They do not collect score cards for a Fun Shoot and if you are not comfortable with the distances set up, you may approach the target for a closer shot. The club pays back a percentage of the registration to shooters, selected by random draw.
The club also holds an Annual 3D Archery Tournament that is a trophy shoot. It is held every year on Labor Day weekend.
